Sigma DP1? Im curious to know what they are like, I hear good things, but I am hard pressed to spend eight hundred dollars on a digital camera now. I bought an Eos 1DmkII four years ago for four thousand dollars and its not economically viable to sell or upgrade it yet but the professional market pressures are there to do so. I went back to shooting film two years ago for everything I possibly could (which amounts mostly to my own hobby work), and use it with the same ferocity I did when shooting digitally, however, the possibility of being forced back into digital seems to be edging closer all the time.
Good luck with the M8, I just sold an R-D1 recently.
My main gripe was that I bought it to use as a pocketable, take everywhere camera, and it was just a bit too big for that purpose. The lens speed was also an issue for anything indoors, not having image stabalisation.
I’ve been having a lot of fun with the M8, there’s nothing quite like a Leica viewfinder, makes all the difference.
